Welcome Letter From Sharon Goldblatt

Thank you for visiting the Texas PTA Web site.  We hope that you find it informative and full of the resources you need as a parent, teacher, administrator, community member, or child advocate.  For more than 100 years, Texas PTA has worked to support and serve on behalf of children and youth.  Our rich history is testimony to our vision to make every child’s potential a reality.  We welcome you to join our efforts at a Local PTA near you, or you could join the Star Spangled PTA, which is our statewide PTA.  Joining one or more PTAs demonstrates your support of our mission and the need to support every child, not just our own.

I truly believe in the butterfly effect as it can be applied to PTA.  Just as the slight flutter of the butterfly’s wings can begin the movement of molecules that may result in the tremendous winds of a hurricane on the opposite side of the globe, your active participation in PTA can produce a monumental effect in the lives of countless children.  Everything you do matters.  Whether you choose to read to a classroom, serve as a mentor, or demonstrate bicycle safety at a health fair, the way you support the education process is not important.  What is important is that you take the step and volunteer.

Why not make a difference in the life of a child?  Join us.  Join PTA.  The children of Texas need you.  Together, we can cause the hurricane that brings hope and promise to all children.  Together … for every child, with one voice.
