PTA is a grassroots organization made up of parents, teachers and others around the state who have an interest in children, families and schools. PTA membership is as diverse as Texas is in cultures, education levels and parenting skills. By joining PTA, a member becomes part of the largest child advocacy organization in the state with over 500,000 members across Texas.
Membership is open to anyone concerned with the education, health and welfare of children and youth. Student members for a PTSA must be in the 9th grade or above.

PTA understands that educating the child is critical from “cradle to career.” Families can be a part of a PTA well before children enter Kindergarten. Early Childhood PTAs provide the opportunity to learn and to contribute to the success of children before formal schooling. Early childhood PTAs connect parents, child-care providers, teachers, grandparents and other concerned individuals to each other and to the early childhood program in order to establish a strong and loving learning foundation. And studies show that when parents are involved in their child's learning from birth through college, students are more successful and exhibit more positive attitudes and behavior.
Join your local Early Childhood PTA. If one doesn’t already exist locally, Texas PTA would be thrilled to help organize one. Please contact Mary Jo Burgess, Director of Member Services at Texas PTA at 1-800-825-5782 for more information.
Star Spangled PTA is a unique PTA chartered by the Texas Parent Teacher Association. The PTA expands the access for PTA membership to those who may have little or no contact with a local PTA. It is not campus-based, but state-wide. Membership is for everyone!
