    The Algalita Foundation examines the impact of plastic debris in the ocean.
  • Clean Sweep USA 
    This Keep America Beautiful website teaches students about waste, litter and beautification with resources for educators.
  • Greenpeace Ocean Animation 
    This Greenpeace animation illustrates how ocean currents have consolidated plastic debris from land sources in the ocean.
  • Keep Texas Beautiful
    Keep Texas Beautiful offers resources for recycling, litter prevention and beautification. 
  • Texas Bottle Bill
    In order to reduce plastic litter in Texas rivers, lakes and oceans, this organization is promoting a state Bottle Bill to add a purchase fee to bottled drinks that would then be refunded when returned to a redemption center, which schools can do to raise funds.

Sustainability and Product Stewardship

  • Texas Product Stewardship Council
    Texas Product Stewardship Council works to integrate the principles of product stewardship into the policy and economic structures of Texas. Product Stewardship, or Extended Producer Responsibility, means whoever designs, produces, sells, or uses a product takes responsibility for minimizing the product's environmental impact throughout all stages of the products' life cycle, including end of life management.
