Internet Safety

Here are some resources that we have found that will assist parents in evaluating the safety issues related to childrens' access to the Internet and the various products that are now available to "filter" or "block" access to objectionable Internet resources.

  • Keeping Your Child Safe Online provided by National PTA.
  • Family Online Safety Institute - is an international, non-profit organization of internet leaders working to develop a safer internet. ICRA has long believed that self-regulation leads to the best balance between the free flow of digital content and protecting children from potentially harmful material.
  • Links to the web sites of some of the major software products offering parental control over Internet access: This list includes access to the latest filter files for all of these products. Please note that this list does not constitute an endorsement by Texas PTA.
