The Value of Arts Education: Why It's Important for Your Child

Arts education supports students’ improved academic outcomes, social skills, future work skills, and is beneficial to whole child development. All of this leads to emotional well-being and a well-rounded adult. During this fifteen-minute video, Jenny Parry outlines what we can do to invest in our student’s future. 

Jenny Parry is the Director of Programs for the Texas Cultural Trust, where she oversees the Trusts’ programs, including research and data related to the impact and access of arts education in Texas public schools and the development of arts education advocacy resources. Prior to joining the Trust, she served as a public-school art teacher and a district fine arts administrator and worked to enhance fine arts programs. Jenny holds a Bachelor of Visual Art Studies from the University of North Texas, a Master of Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University, and Texas certifications as an art educator and principal.
