Texas PTA's Outstanding Program Engagement Award
PTA’s mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.
The Texas PTA Outstanding Program Engagement Award recognizes Local PTAs that offer a variety of quality programs throughout the school year, fostering family engagement, student growth, and strong school-community partnerships. This award celebrates PTAs that go beyond a single initiative. They are offering multiple opportunities for families to connect, advocate, learn, and thrive together.
Local and Council PTAs that have offered a minimum of 3 programs during the current school year will receive a digital badge.
This award application will be open
from February 1 through April 15th.

How to Apply
Throughout the application, please be prepared to provide the following information.
- Your PTA and school information
- including your PTA’s Texas PTA ID number
- Your PTA must be in Good Standing
- A summary of all programs conducted this school year
- including dates
- Indicate the program content origin
- Texas PTA Program (e.g., Connect), National PTA Program (e.g., Reflections, School of Excellence), Locally Created, or External Community Partner
- Indicate the program's focus area
- Academic/STEM, Arts & Culture, Healthy Lifestyles/Safety, Family Engagement, Advocacy
- Examples of your impact
- Describe one program that had the greatest impact and why
- Supporting Materials
- Copies of your marketing initiative and pictures from your event
- Data points (attendance, survey results, etc.)
- Quotes or short stories from families or students
Tips for a Strong Application
- Be Specific: Use exact numbers, attendance figures, and percentages rather than general statements like "many parents attended."
- Highlight Diversity of Content: Mix state/national programs (like Reflections or Connect) with programs tailored locally for your school.
- Tell Your Story: Include short quotes from a parent, student, or principal about how a program made a difference.
- Organize Supporting Docs: Label photos and flyers clearly before uploading so judges can easily match them to your program list.
Scoring
Judges will determine outstanding PTA program engagement levels by total rubric points. PTAs with the strongest evidence across a variety of programs, their sources, family and community engagement, and program quality and impact will score highest.
- Bronze Level
Reflects initial steps toward alignment, engagement, and connection in their alignment, outreach, standard approaches, and basic documentation. PTA implements 3 programs that provide opportunities for family involvement and student growth. - Silver Level
Shows solid alignment with PTA goals, moderate engagement, some creativity, adequate promotion, evidence of positive impact, and sufficient documentation. PTA implements a minimum of 4-5 programs from at least two different categories of program content origin. - Gold Level
Demonstrates outstanding alignment with PTA initiatives, strong family and community engagement, creative programming, broad promotion, measurable impact, and thorough documentation. PTA implements a minimum of 6, representing a strong mix of program content origins.
