The Texas PTA
Family & Student Engagement Impact Award
PTA’s mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.
The Texas PTA Family & Student Engagement Impact Award recognizes PTAs that go above and beyond to strengthen family and student engagement. These PTAs foster meaningful connections, remove barriers to participation, and ensure their work is mission-driven and accessible in membership leadership, program content, advocacy, training, partnerships, and communications.
One Council PTA and one Local PTA will be selected as the Overall Family & Student Engagement Impact Award winners and receive a digital certificate and on-stage recognition at LAUNCH.
2025 Family & Student Engagement Impact Award Winners
Outstanding Local PTADwight D. Eisenhower Elementary PTA, Grand Prairie ISD: This team approached family engagement with a clear goal: to support student success by building a more connected school community. Every effort—from academic nights and cultural celebrations to flexible, multilingual communication—was designed to strengthen the partnership between home and school. Teachers reported stronger relationships with families, and students showed greater morale and enthusiasm. As their PTA shared, “Through these intentional actions, we strengthened trust, increased family involvement, and built a more connected school community.” Their work demonstrates how inclusive, mission-driven engagement can directly impact student learning and well-being.
Outstanding Council PTA
Fort Worth ISD Council of PTAs: The Fort Worth ISD Council focused on increasing access to leadership development, particularly in communities less likely to have active or sustained PTA presence. They offered monthly coffee chats and virtual workshops that brought leaders together across the district. One statement that stood out in their application read, “Starting new PTAs isn’t enough — we believe it’s just as important to continue supporting and nurturing parent leaders in these communities so they can thrive.” Their efforts led to stronger connections, greater attendance, and a noticeable rise in PTA involvement and membership.
Additionally, the following PTAs earned a digital badge for their efforts to improve family and student engagement.
